There was a time when Americans could count on hearing a message of hope and unity from their president on Easter Sunday.
Barack Obama offered exactly that, wishing the country a joyful holiday “filled with reminders of the enduring power of faith and hope.”
Donald Trump spent the same morning screaming profanities on social media, threatening to send a country “living in hell,” and signing off with “Praise be to Allah” before heading to his golf course.
And yet, millions of MAGA supporters will tell you with a straight face that Donald Trump is a man of deep Christian faith. Some have gone further, comparing him to Jesus Christ himself.
